Modern condensing boilers need the flue terminated at a set distance from windows, doors, boundaries and openings, and a 600mm stone wall is a different proposition from a cavity brick wall. Where the boiler can go is often dictated by where the flue can legally and practically terminate, not by where you would like it. We work this out on the survey rather than discovering it on installation day.
Plenty of Huddersfield housing sits on a slope, and the higher a property is above the mains, the lower the incoming pressure tends to be. This matters enormously if you are considering a combi or an unvented cylinder. Older properties frequently have the condensate discharge running externally because there was nowhere internal to take it. In a cold snap it freezes and the boiler shuts down. We can lag it, upsize it or reroute it internally so it stops happening every winter.
